Preschoolers will skip down to the La Porte City FFA Historical & Ag Museum during Story Time on Thursday, October 24, 10:30 AM, for a program on art. Our guest reader will draw out creativity in these youngsters with art stories and projects. They will also learn about the museum folk art display.
Bring any craft project you are working on; knitting, crocheting, quilting, sewing, embroidery, etc., and join other crafty people at the library for Hawkins’ Handcrafters. This group meets on Thursday, October 24, from 1 to 3 PM.
Kids can bop into the library to design their own treat bag, create a “lights out” pumpkin, or fashion a spider decoration on Tuesday, October 29. Halloween crafts are from 3:30 to 5:30 PM, at the library.
There will be excitement downtown at the annual Story Time Trick-or-Treating event on Thursday, October 31. At 10:30 AM adorable costumed preschoolers will parade to businesses and trade a trick for a treat.
The library is welcoming Trick-or-Treaters on Thursday, October 31. From 3 to 6 PM, costume clad kids get a treat when they stop in with a trick on Halloween.
During October, purchase sale books by Authors with last names beginning with the letters A, B, or C. The bargain price is $.25 each. More books added weekly.
Children will read about pumpkins and pies at Story Time on November 7. This will be a yummy morning for preschoolers who join us at 10:30 AM.

Firegirl is the November book selection for the Kids’ Wild About Books Club. Fourth graders and older can pick up a book now to start reading.
