Shirley Lea Hadley, 85, of Dysart, died Saturday, August 10, 2013, at the Sunnycrest Nursing Center.
She was born November 16, 1927, in Spirit Lake, Iowa, the daughter of Kenneth Eugene and Daisy Blanche Morphew Billings. She married Dale Walter Hadley October 25, 1952, in Princeton, MO; they later divorced.
She attended Simpson College, Drake University, Iowa State Teachers College (UNI) and graduated from Upper Iowa University in Fayette. She taught elementary school in Sumner, Fredericksburg, and La Porte City.
She is survived by two daughters, Teresa Colby of St. Petersburg, FL and Merrie (Ben) Hach of Dysart; eleven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; one brother, Richard E. Billings of Arkansas; and one sister, Linda K. King of Nashville, TN.
Preceding her in death were two sons, Stephen and Walter Hadley; daughter, Sheila Heller; granddaughter, Lora Lee Hadley; brother, Kenneth Billings and his wife Jane and sister-in-law Ruth Billings.
