With 15 boys out for the team, the 2014 Boys tennis team has begun practice for the upcoming season. The Knights return four of their top six singles players from a year ago. Seniors Joel Wauters (#4 singles last year) and Jacob Zeien (#5), along with junior Nathan Dvorak (#3), and sophomore Matt Vogeler (#6) will compete for the top two spots in singles play, now open following the graduation of Robert Leipold and Austin Pauling last year.

Others reporting this spring include seniors Jared Frost and newcomer Austin Lee, juniors Brandon Hill  and Grant Mullen, sophomores Trevor and Weston Krug, Charles Kronschnabel, Mitchell Wilson, Ryan Connolly, and DJ Steinlage; and freshman Taylor Brown.

The weather has, for the second straight year, wreaked havoc on the early season practice schedule, with the team forced indoors during the first week of practice before braving the elements since.  Despite the conditions, some skills and techniques are being developed. The team opened play last Thursday at home against Waterloo Columbus.
