Union 1, Wapsie Valley 0

Union’s Brady Driscol turned in his best outing of the year, shutting down the bats of Wapsie Valley, leading the Knights to a 1-0 victory on June 25. In seven innings of shutout ball, Driscol allowed just one hit, while striking out three batters.
Both teams struggled to get their offenses going. The lone Union run came in the fourth inning. Austin Kiler led off with a double and advanced to third on a ground out. When Bryon Sells’ hit a ball that wasn’t fielded cleanly, Driscol had the only run he’d need to secure a Union victory.
With the win, the Knights improved to 10-4 in conference play, 13-8 overall.
