What is your most embarrassing moment at Union High School? During my junior year I competed in Academic Decathlon districts and I bombed my speeches so badly that I started crying.
What is your favorite year of high school and why? Probably sophomore year, I had a lot of great teachers and we did some really fun projects during those classes. I feel like I enjoyed my sophomore year the most.
What is your favorite memory from high school? Having conversations with Mr. Gassman about baseball before and after class.
My biggest pet peeve is: People moving and messing up things in my room.
What will you miss most about high school? Daily interaction with my friends, a lot of them are in La Porte and I live in Dysart, so it’s not as easy to see them every day. I also built a lot of good relationships with teachers.
What is the best thing about being a senior? You feel like the “Top Dog” and there are going to be more activities and things to take part in throughout the year.
What are your post-high school plans? To attend a 4-year college pursuing Sports Communications.
Your best advice to underclassmen? Obviously high school is about furthering your education but there are a lot of life skills that are learned during your four years too. Simple, little things: respect, a good work ethic, being on time, doing the right thing, and just being a good person in general. Doing that will get you so far in life. Also, try to be involved and make a lot of friends, you have more friends than you think. I am a shy person, but I still found ways to enjoy myself throughout high school. Lastly, just do your homework and set goals for yourself. Grades are important for a lot of reasons.
