On Friday, Feb. 16, 20 students from Union Middle School used their day off from school to compete at the Mathcounts competition at Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo. The students did an outstanding job, taking first place as a team and advancing to the State competition on March 22nd in Ankeny! The four students on the team advancing to state are Gabriel Jesse, who placed third overall, Josie Werner, Carlie Spore, and Alexa Weber.

Union Middle School had four students place in the top 20 out of 134 students at the competition! Congratulations and good luck at State!
