Can you believe that it is February? We are hard at work on our exhibit this year “Collecting History” which will again feature some of the unique collections of Peggy and Junior McBride, as well as others. Our new season will begin on April 12th. This year our hours will be from 10-4 on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday or by appointment. With another season just around the corner we hope that you are making plans to join us for some of our special events.
Mark your calendars for June 26th when our garden walk returns with a bang! We have five special gardens lined up along with our popular garden shop that will offer items for sale. September 18th is our family focused Fall Festival. Join us for the dedication of our Rural Iowa Heritage Center featuring the our newly renovated log cabin, along with special broom and soap making demonstrations, as well as loads of fun things for the entire family.
We are working on final details for our summer enrichment classes for students and adults, and some special guest speakers. All of these events are fundraisers for the museum. Your support of these events helps to fund future exhibits and activities at the museum. Be sure to watch our website www.lpcmuseum.com for updates on all these events.
Just a reminder, if you are looking for a unique place for a graduation party, a group meeting, a private celebration or a business luncheon, the museum is an exceptional place. Visit our website www.lpcmuseum.com or call us at 319-342-3619 for more information.
We would like to thank everyone who donated to our Wishing Tree. Your generosity helped to make many of our wishes come true. We currently are looking for wooden step ladders that could be borrowed for this year’s exhibit. If you have any that you can lend, please call the museum at 319-342-3619.
