Have you been into the Museum to see our new exhibit “Reflections of the 60’s” yet? If so, you would know that men’s oxford shoes cost $12.95 in the sixties. Do you remember the “cool” leisure suits that every fashionable man was sporting back then? Or maybe you remember those “sweet little nothings” and tulle prom dresses? Every woman had to have a hat to match her outfit. The great teen counterculture revolt hit the fashion world like a tsunami in the mid-60’s. From mini-skirts to go-go boots to paisley shirts come take a walk down memory lane. Hear the stories behind the fashions. While you are looking you might just discover there is an extraordinary parallel to some of today’s styles!
As always, we are open on Tuesday and Wednesday from 11am-4pm, Thursday from 11am-6pm or by appointment. (319-342-3619) Stop in and see us soon!
