Mark Saturday, October 10th on your calendars as the Museum will offer its final enrichment class of the year, “Dare to Dream.” This class will be held at the Museum and will offer students age 8-14 the opportunity to create a pillowcase for themselves, to give as a gift, or to donate to the University of Iowa Children’s Hospital. Pillowcases donated to the hospital will be delivered to children who are battling a disease, encouraging them to dream about better days ahead.
Each student is asked to bring 1 yd. of fabric (prewashed and dried for best results) for each pillowcase they wish to make (limit 2). The Museum will provide instruction, sewing machines, scissors and an assortment of colored thread. A snack will also be provided. Cost for the class is $10.00. Advance registration is required by October 8. You may register by contacting the Museum (319-342-3619) or obtaining a registration form from the elementary school offices. We encourage you to register early as class size is limited.
This would make a great club service project for 4-H groups! Anyone having juvenile print fabric they wish to donate to this project may drop it off at the Museum.
