The Knights scattered four hits on Tuesday, but weren’t able to push enough runs across, and lost 11-1 to Jesup.
Spencer Schmit got it done on the hill on the way to a win. He allowed one run over four innings. Schmit struck out one, walked two and gave up three hits.
Jesup was sparked by Ethan Wyant and Keegan Wilson, who teamed up for five hits and five RBIs.
Alex Barz couldn’t get it done on the rubber for Knights, taking a loss. He allowed eight runs in 2 2/3 innings, walked three and struck out two.
Jesup didn’t relinquish the lead after scoring four runs in the first inning when it scored on an error and two singles.
Jesup built upon its lead with four runs in the third. The inning got off to a hot start when Rodney Ciesielski singled, scoring Wilson. That was followed up by Wyant’s triple, plating Blake Frush, Ciesielski and Kyle Deberg.
The fourth inning saw Knights score its only run on the day on an error.

An exceptional effort by Brady Driscol spurred the Knights to a 2-0 win in seven innings over Jesup on Tuesday.
Union’s Driscol kept Jesup off the scoreboard for all seven innings he was on the rubber. He pitched a shutout, allowing no runs on four hits while striking out eight.
Ben Hummel took the loss for Jesup. He lasted just seven innings, walked three, struck out five, and allowed two runs.
The Knights stayed on top until the final out after taking the lead in the third, scoring one run on a groundout by Alex Barz.
