A nine-run explosion in the third inning hoisted the Knights to a 10-0 win in five innings over Sumner Fredericksburg on Thursday, July 2, 2015.

Union scored in the third on an RBI single by Brady Driscol, a wild pitch, a sacrifice fly by Cael Lambe, a fielder’s choice, a wild pitch, an error, an RBI single by Justin Carey, and a fielder’s choice.

Derek Holschlag was hot from the plate for the Knights. Holschlag went 2-4, drove in one and scored two runs.

Union’s Lambe kept Sumner Fredericksburg off the scoreboard for all five innings he was on the mound. He pitched a shutout, allowing no runs on three hits while striking out six.

Andrew Tisue took the loss for Sumner Fredericksburg. He allowed nine runs in three innings, walked three and struck out none.
