Union jumped out to an early lead on Dike and captured an 8-2 victory on Friday, July 10.

The game was decided quickly as the Knights exerted its will early with six runs in the first three innings.

A two-run double by Cael Lambe in the first inning supplied the early offense for the Knights.

Lambe racked up three RBIs on two hits for Union.

The Knights relied on Brady Driscol to eat up innings en route to the win. Driscol pitched seven innings and allowed one earned run, six hits and no walks while striking out five.

Ty Sohn took the loss for Dike. He allowed eight runs in seven innings, walked two and struck out four.

Union  tacked on another four runs in the third. Driscol’s single got things going, scoring Derek Holschlag. That was followed up by Lambe’s single, bringing home Justin Carey.

The Knights got one-run rallies in the fourth inning and the fifth. In the fourth, Union scored on an RBI single by Driscol, scoring Holschlag.

The Knights pushed one more run across in the top of the fifth when Austin Kilerstole home on a double steal.
