Undefeated and highly ranked Waverly, swept the Union Knights on June 11 by decisive scores of 16-1 and 10-0.
In game one, Waverly scored earlier and often as they scored two in the first and seven more in the second off Union starter Alex Kane. Waverly scored six more in the third which proved to be too much and ended the game early. Union would score their lone run in the fourth as Tecklenburg reached on a walk and scored on a single by Cael Lambe.
Carey, Tecklenburg, Ramirez and Lambe all collected hits for the Knights.
In game two, Waverly continued to show their offensive punch by scoring one in the second and seven more in the third to gain a commanding lead. They would go on to score two more in the fourth to push the lead to 10-0 and end the game by the run rule. Holschlag and Kiler collected hits for the Knights. Derek Holschlag suffered the loss on the mound.
