See the change, be the change. On Monday and Thursday afternoons in La Porte City, group fitness has a different vibe, as participants come together for a 60 minute workout that combines strength training, toning and just the right amount of cardio.
What makes Be the Change Group Fitness unique, though, are the community outreach benefits provided by each participant. Be the Change does not charge a membership or participation fee. Instead, the free will offerings made by participants are pooled and donated to a local charity, non-profit organization, event, program or family in crisis that has been unanimously approved by the group at the end of each month.
Last week, La Porte City’s Be the Change Group Fitness presented a check for $819 to Mike Lint and his son, Lucas. On January 3, 2019, the Lints lost wife and mother, Diane, to lupus, a chronic and complex autoimmune disease.
Be the Change meets each week at the La Porte City Community Center from 5:15 – 6:15 PM. New participants are welcomed with open arms.
