The Waterloo Community Playhouse (WCP) has cast three members of a La Porte City family in roles for its upcoming production of Les Miserables! Kyle, Kristin and Asher Beermann are cast in the production which runs from July 11-26 in the Hope Martin Theatre located within the Waterloo Center for the Arts.
Kyle has been cast as the Bishop and Lesgles. He is a teacher at Union High School. He has appeared in several productions at WCP including roles in Fiddler on the Roof, Jesus Christ Superstar, The Sound of Music, 12 Angry Men and most recently as “Professor Moriarty” in Sherlock Holmes and the Jersey Lily. He recently had the chance to go skydiving for the first time. Kyle is a graduate of North Fayette High School in West Union and Central College in Pella.
Kristin is cast in the role of Fantine. A nurse at La Porte City Elementary she is returning to the WCP stage after a 10 year absence. She holds degrees from the University of Iowa, Allen College of Nursing and Philadelphia University. She is currently working on her second Master’s Degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Previous productions at WCP include Little Women, State Fair, Annie, Joseph & The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and her last performance in Steel Magnolias.
Asher will be making his WCP debut although technically he has appeared on stage one other time. His mother was pregnant with him when she appeared in Steel Magnolias. Asher will be in 4th grade this fall at La Porte City Elementary. He enjoys reading and recently ran a mile in 6:40.
