Williams & Company, P.C. recently released an audit report on Black Hawk County, Iowa for the year ended June 30, 2014.
Williams & Company, P.C. reported that Black Hawk County collected a total of $189,223,195 in property tax during the year ended June 30, 2014, which included $6,112,751 in tax credits from the state.
The County retained $31,368,091 of the property tax collected to finance County operations. The balance of the property tax collected was forwarded to the townships, school districts, cities and other taxing bodies in the County. Revenues for County operations totaled $58,020,958 a 2.0% decrease from the prior year.
Expenditures for County operations totaled $59,202,951 a 5.33% decrease from the prior year.
The County received $13,754,762 in intergovernmental revenues and $774,037 in use of money and property during the year.
