La Porte City Economic Development has selected Tootsie’s as the Business of the Year.
On behalf of La Porte City Economic Development, Mayor David Neil presented the Business of the Year Award to Tootsie’s on June 16.
In February 2012, Corey and Teresa Siebert opened the first Tootsie’s location in Vinton at the former location of Leon’s Malt Shop. The business was named after Corey’s late mother. In the summer of 2012, a second Tootsie’s location in Center Point was opened. Shortly after that, while traveling through La Porte City, Corey noticed the ice cream shop in La Porte City at the intersection of Commercial and Main, Union Station. When the business was put up for sale in October, 2013, Corey and Teresa decided to add a third location to their growing business after receiving encouragement from Dick and Dee Hutton.
Since opening for business in November of 2013, the Sieberts have added broasted chicken to the menu and a drive up window option for customers, providing area residents and visitors with a year round location for lunch, dinner and ice cream.
Congratulations to Corey and Teresa Seibert and the staff at Tootsie’s, La Porte City’s Business of the Year!
