“Merlin’s Apprentice and the Deadly Dragon” is a week-long workshop for children interested in exploring the exciting world of theatre.
The camp is designed to give children ages 7 and up the unique opportunity to work and perform with three professional actors from The Old Creamery Theatre while they rehearse and present a play. “Merlin’s Apprentice and the Deadly Dragon” is a brand new musical full of magic and madcap fun. Featuring a lot of jolly jesters, enchanted frogs, perservering princesses, and very eager apprentices, this production is a wonderful way for boys and girls to have a fantastic theatrical adventure this summer.
Camp Creamery will be held at the St. Joseph’s building, 101 Clark St., Dysart, from July 21-25 from 10 AM to 2 PM and each participant will be asked to bring a sack lunch. Registration fee is $25 per child. The number of campers will be limited, with a registartion deadline of May 31. Registration is first come, first served and all participants will be cast in the show. Registration forms are available at the Norma Anders Library in Dysart. The Old Creamery Theatre is a not for-profit professional theatre located in Amana, Iowa that has been creating high-quality, live professional theatre since 1971. Camp Creamery is one of the educational programs offered by the company.
On Friday, July 25th at 7 PM and Saturday, July 26th at 2 PM the children will present the production to the public at the St. Joseph’s building. Tickets will be sold at the door for $5.00 each.
