Are you a caregiver for an older family member or friend or a person with disabilities? Do you help with your parents’ household chores and finances? Do you drive an elderly or disabled friend to their doctor appointments? If so, then you are among approximately 300,000 caregivers in Iowa who provide 319 million hours of informal care each year.
In recognition of all caregivers do, Northeast Iowa Area Agency on Aging (NEI3A) is inviting caregivers to a day full of fun, information, and relaxation. The Caregiver Conference and Resource Fair will be held at Cedar Valley Community Church, 3520 Ansborough Avenue in Waterloo. The event will be held on Thursday, November 6 from 10 AM until 2 PM. Keynote speaker will be Elaine Eshbaugh, PH.D, Associate Professor at the University of Northern Iowa. If you are a caregiver, make plans to attend this valuable event, enjoy a much needed break, and interact with other caregivers. There is no cost; however space is limited. Registration is required by October 31. To register or find out information about respite care while you are attending this event call LifeLong Links toll-free at 1-866-468-7887.
