The Cedar Falls Community Theatre announces the annual Iver Christoffersen Scholarship. The scholarship was established through an endowment from the Cedar Falls Community Theatre Board and the theater support group, APPLAUD, as an expression of its appreciation of the significant contribution Iver Christoffersen made to the Cedar Falls community and to the restoration of the Regent Theatre building.
The purpose of this scholarship is to encourage and support interest in all aspects of the performing arts through a variety of educational and training experience. The scholarship is available on an annual basis. The amount of the scholarship may vary and will be based on the purpose for which it is being awarded up to the maximum of $500.
Any person who is twelve (12) years of age or older or is a UNI student is eligible to apply for the scholarship. Recipients are expected to have been involved as a volunteer with the Cedar Falls Community Theatre. Previous recipients may re-apply.
The recipient should have a strong interest in such areas as summer camps, theatrical classes and workshops, a college education, or internships related to the performing arts. Scholarships are determined on the following criteria: interest in the performing arts, involvement in community and/or school activities, academic promise, written personal statement, financial need may be a consideration.
