Did you know the Affordable Care Act is now in effect? Did you know that Operation Threshold staff in Waterloo can help you learn about the new law?
Under the Affordable Care Act, starting in 2014, every individual must have minimum essential health care coverage or pay a tax penalty. Individuals can apply and enroll for health coverage through March 31, 2014 at the HealthCare.gov marketplace. On the website you can apply for coverage and compare insurance options. You can also find out if you are eligible for free or low cost coverage.
For details on whether you qualify, please visit HealthCare.gov to find a local navigator or certified application counselor in our area. A local navigator is an individual or organization that’s trained and able to help consumers, small businesses, and their employees as they look for health coverage options through the Marketplace, including completing eligibility and enrollment forms. These individuals and organizations are required to be unbiased and their services are free to consumers.
