Dean A. Rousselow, 67, of La Porte City died at UnityPoint Health ‑ Allen Hospital Sunday, March 12, 2017 of complications from cancer.
He was born July 14, 1949 in Waterloo, son of Leonard Dean and Lola E. Deits Rousselow. Dean married Judy Whitney on September 24, 1983 at the Janesville United Methodist Church. He graduated from Jesup High School in 1968, attended Grace College, and later graduated from Hawkeye Community College with a degree in Horticulture.
Dean worked at Holiday Gas Stations and then Rath Meat Packing before working at John Deere where he retired in 2000 after 28 years. He continued working at John Deere after retirement as a contract technician. He also co-owned Leer’s Cycle Center for 13 years and was a driver for La Porte City Nursing Home. He attended Grace Fellowship Church and also volunteered as a driver for Covenant Medical Center.
He is survived by his wife: Judy; son, Shannon Dean (Kim) Rousselow, Lake Ozark, MO; grandson, Drake Dean Rousselow; granddaughter, Bella Ann Rousselow; a sister, Sarah Munro, Phoenix, AZ; a sister, Judy (Mike) Christian, Chang Mai, Thailand; and a brother, Dan (Lee Ann) Rousselow, Waverly, IA. He is preceded by his parents.
Funeral Services are 10:30 AM, Friday, March 17, 2017 at Grace Fellowship Church, Waterloo with burial in Orange Township Cemetery. Visitation: 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, March 16, 2017 at Locke Funeral Home.
