The 63nd Annual Eastern Iowa Home & Landscaping Show is February 7-9 at the Five Sullivan Brothers Convention Center in downtown Waterloo. Nearly 200 exhibitors will be showcasing the latest in new ideas and products for the home, lawn and garden.
Exhibits at this year’s Home Show include new home contractors, remodeling experts, home entertainment, landscaping experts, and kitchen specialists. Experts will be on hand with energy saving solutions and creative options for the home. Consumers can shop for lighting, plumbing, real estate, water systems, flooring, windows, doors, siding, hot tubs, fireplaces, sunrooms, grills, lawn care equipment, and much more. This is the annual one-stop for new and innovative products and ideas for the home.
This year’s Home Show will again feature Designer Rooms designed by area A.S.I.D (American Society of Interior Designers) members displaying a variety of the latest colors, fabrics, furniture, and fashion accessories for room design. Jim Aronson Interior Design will design an urban loft space serving as an up-tempo mix of rustic and popular elements. From the trendy pops of melon and turquoise colors, to the mix of metal with dried wood, this loft speaks “up-tempo” rustic. Flack Interior Design Associates, a division of Simpson Furniture, will use a charcoal grey background as the beginning of a layered textural multi-purpose room to watch television, read in or have great conversations with friends. The sophisticated metallic accessories and abstract artwork will be inspiring every day. Katie Bell will design a timeless bathroom with vintage flare, including single vanities with vessel sinks, chrome and champagne accents. Classic and comfort creating function.
SEMINAR speakers will include headliner Paul Ryan, The Kitchen Magician, who will speak on “Kitchen Remodeling – Planning for the Best Outcome” and “Remodeling 1001 – So That’s How It’s Done”. Ryan is a nationally recognized home improvement expert and hosts several television shows on DIY Network. More seminars include Heidi Tietz De Silva on “Fairy Gardening” and “New Ideas for Spring Planting”. Mace Hensen will cover the “Ever Changing World of GeoThermal” and Darin Dietz will speak on the “Science Behind Building With ICF”.
