It’s time to travel back to your childhood, or maybe even before you were born, and reminisce about the great situation comedies of your childhood, or for some, adulthood.  The Union High School Drama Department is proud to bring Classic Television Night to the Matt Auditorium stage at Union High School.

This year’s fall play is actually a combination of four different sitcom episodes put together for an entire night of comedy and laughter.  Episodes of The Addam’s Family, Gilligan’s Island, The Facts of Life, and Seinfeld have been adapted from the small screen to the big stage for two nights only, on November 1st and 2nd.

“With the auditorium under renovation this summer and into the fall, I had to come up with an idea of how to have practices with smaller amounts of cast members, since finding adequate space to practice was a problem,” said Dean Bostian, drama director at the high school.

“My sister actually came up with the idea and it just snowballed from there.  It has been interesting because most of the kids don’t know the programs, but after talking to their parents and learning more about them, they became very excited to learn of the different shows and the characters in each.”

On Saturday night, November 2nd, there will be an official dedication of the newly renovated Matt Auditorium.

“They have totally redone the auditorium.  They have replaced all the seats and added some more, new ceiling to enhance the sound quality, new carpeting, new curtains, and much, much more.  We can’t wait for the public to see it,” said Bostian.

The doors open at 6:30 each night, with the show starting at 7 p.m. Admission is five dollars, however, activity passes will be accepted.

“So come out and reacquaint yourself with Morticia and Gomez, the Skipper and Gilligan, Mrs. Garret and the girls from Eastland, and the whole Seinfeld cast!  It will be a great night of fun for all ages!” Bostian exclaimed.
