The American Cancer Society will be hosting the 2nd Annual Bark For Life on Saturday, May 2nd from 9-11AM at Gateway Park in Cedar Falls. The group walk will begin at 9:30 AM after a brief speech from this year’s honorary survivor Dave Hoth, and his canine companion, Bailey. Bark For Life is an American Cancer Society fundraising event that honors the care giving qualities of canines and supports our mission of helping people stay well, get well, find cures and fight back against cancer.
Registration is $10 per dog. Every dog registered will receive a doggie prize bag, and will complete a one mile walk together after a brief program; there is also a shorter route for smaller dogs. There will be pet-friendly vendors, a demonstration from the K-9 tactical unit, a raffle, silent auction, and much more. Visit the website, www.relayforlife/org/barkblackhawkia or call 1-800-227-2345 to register. Every dog participating in the event must be current on all vaccinations, be kept on a 6’ or less leash, and owners must clean up after their pets.
