  The Union Girls Golf team dropped an impressive 49 strokes from their collective game, improving from a 583 effort at the NICL East Conference Meet to a 534 at the 3A Regional Meet held May 16 at Lincoln Valley Golf Course in Ames.
On May 9 at South Hills Golf Course, Union finished eighth in the NICL East, led by Payton Sash’s 135 which was good for 33rd place. Sumner-Fredericksburg took the team title with 412 points, with Sydney Andrews of Jesup scoring medalist honors with a 98.
Again the Knights finished eighth at Regionals, outdistanced by Claire Ausman, meet medalist from Nevada who shot a 78, helping her team to a 378 finish, good for first place. Union’s Hallie Spore carded a 120, placing 31st overall.
