After a solid, 6-3 win over Mt. Vernon in their season opener, the Union Girls’ Tennis Team was shutout at home on April 8 by a very consistent hitting Western Dubuque squad.

In a strongly contested match at #1 singles, Union junior, Leah Jungling, battled Western Dubuque’s Nicki Neal, but came up on the short end of an 8-5 score. Similarily at #2, senior Mariah Scott also lost her match by an 8-5 score, despite hiting some very powerful groundstokes at times.

Union’s match on April 9 agasinst South Hardin was rescheduled to April 25, due to cold and soggy conditions.
