La Porte City’s Home for the Holidays, a celebration of holiday-related events throughout the month of December, has a full schedule of activities this weekend:
On Friday night, Union Middle School will present a Winter Band Concert at 7 PM.
Saturday events start bright and early, as the La Porte City Lions Club hosts a waffle breakfast at the Veterans Hall (302 Cedar) beginning at 6 AM, with serving continuing until 11 AM.
Santa Claus also has a busy schedule on Saturday, as he visits La Porte City Specialty Care (formerly La Porte City Nursing & Rehab Center) from 9-11 AM and Hawkins Memorial Library from 11 AM – 1 PM, with photo opportunities at both locations. The library will also feature craft making opportunities from 9 AM – 1 PM on Saturday.
Shoppers gearing up for the holidays will enjoy the numerous unique vendors selling a variety of products at La Porte City’s Holiday Boutique, which takes place at select Main Street locations from 9 AM – 1 PM.
The La Porte City FFA and Historical Ag Museum will host a very special event this year, as the Sing Me to Heaven Foundation will conduct a Chari-TREE Silent Auction. Your purchase of a unique tree-themed piece of holiday decor will support the Foundation’s mission of providing support to families who are grieving the death of a child.
