Time to go back to those shagadelic times of the late 60’s and early 70’s as the Union High School Drama Department presents Ashton Towers: International Man of Intrigue on November 8th and 9th. The play, a farce of the popular Austin Powers movie trilogy, follows the adventures of super spy, Ashton Towers, as he plots to bring down the evil Dr. NoGood. Many of the characters you are familiar with in the Austin Powers movies come to life in a slightly varied form. Along with Ashton Towers and Dr. NoGood, we are also introduced to Mini You, Ralphie, Fearless Arlice, Number Three, and a variety of other characters which will leave you laughing and wanting more.
The plot of the show is centered around Dr. NoGood and his evil cohorts as they attempt to create a time machine, and the antics of Ashton Towers and his sidekicks to bring justice back to the world. With a number of costume changes, great music from the 60’s and 70’s, and a script that is meant to keep you laughing, Ashton Towers will be a show to go and see.
Admission to the show is $5 and activity passes will be accepted. The show will be on Saturday, November 8th, at 7 p.m., and Sunday, November 9th, at 2 p.m. Please note the change in performance times, as the show had to be moved due to a possible conflict with the state high school football playoffs. We will see you at the show! Groovy, baby!
