Dr. Seuss’ birthday is in March. In observance of this event preschoolers will be busy with silly stories and activities to go with the Dr. Seuss books that will be shared at Story Time on Thursday, March 14, at 10:30 AM.

When an evil spirit known as Pitch lays down the gauntlet to take over the world, the immortal Guardians must join forces for the first time to protect the hopes, beliefs and imagination of children all over the world. The movie Rise of the Guardians shows on Friday, March 15, at 1:15 PM, with popcorn and crafts to entertain anyone who stops in.

On Tuesday, March 19, at 1:15 PM, the library will show a DVD of La Porte City street scenes of the early 1900’s, in anticipation of local authors and sisters, Ruth Anne Abel Schneck and Janice Abel, speaking on April 6.

Spring will finally be here on Thursday, March 21, and to celebrate this event KWWL Meteorologist Jeff Kennedy, will be the guest reader at Story Time that morning.

With the Easter holiday right around the corner, Easter is the Story Time topic on March 28. We have a lot of great stories on bunnies for the kids to hop in for.

March is National Craft Month. The library has craft books galore to inspire you. Check out one of our books and try a new craft such as quilting, scrapbooking, knitting, crochet, weaving, origami, craft books for kids, fairy crafts, crafts for Earth Day, and more.
