Make sun catchers, Easter egg magnets, color pictures, stamp cards, or create your own Easter craft in the library Wednesday, April 1, through Saturday, April 4.
Due to no school on Thursday, April 2, the library will not host Story Time. Preschoolers can join us again at 10:30 AM on April 9.

Annie is the movie playing at 1:15 PM on Thursday, April 2. A foster kid, who lives with her mean foster mom, sees her life change when business tycoon and New York mayoral candidate Will Stacks makes a thinly-veiled campaign move and takes her in.

LEGORAMA! Our LEGO building program is on Tuesday, April 7, from 4 to 5 PM. Kids can create with bins of new and exciting LEGO pieces. Please register if you plan to attend. For ages 3 years and older.

Preschoolers will read entertaining and silly monster stories on Thursday, April 9, at 10:30 AM. It will be a monstrous Story Time that morning!
Take a little time for yourself and your handwork at Hawkins’ Handcrafters. This group meets on Thursday, April 9, from 1 to 3 PM.

Hawkins Memorial Library is celebrating National Library Week by hosting an open house April 12-18, and with a special presentation on Monday, April 13; Autism…A New Word in Our Vocabulary, by Clarice and Robert Burkgren. The library invites community members to visit and explore the library to discover the many free services offered locally. And enjoy a cookie as a treat when stopping in that week.

Local couple Clarice and Robert Burkgren will present the program; Autism…A New Word in Our Vocabulary, Forty Years…Then, Now and In the Future, at 9:30 AM on Monday April 13. You can hear the story of how Autism has impacted their life and that of their daughter, Beth. Clarice will also be sharing her book; Autism, A New Word in Our Vocabulary and the 35 Year History of Iowa Society for Autistic Children and the Autism Society of Iowa. April is National Autism Awareness Month.
