  • At Story Time on Thursday, April 11, at 10:30 AM, children will read about reading, books, and the library. This is a wonderful way of gearing up for National Library Week this month.
  • On Friday, April 12, at 1:15 PM, join us to watch the movie The Hunchback of Notre Dame. The plot centers on Quasimodo, the deformed bell-ringer of Notre Dame and his struggle to gain acceptance into society. There will be popcorn and crafts too.
  • National Library Week is April 14-20. Visit the library and celebrate by borrowing a book, magazine, DVD, an audio book, or use a computer, read a newspaper, peruse the book sale, work on a puzzle, or play a game. Use and support your library; we are here for you.
  • Magic is the theme for stories and activities on Thursday, April 18, at Story Time. In anticipation of the Friday magic show everything will focus on hocus-pocus for the kids.
  • A Night of Magic is Friday, April 19, with the main show starting at 7 PM, at Union High School.  Tickets are $4/person (ages 3 and under are free) and can be purchased at locations around town. Magic class tickets are available at the library for $5/person for ages 8 & up.  A meal and magic activities start at 5 PM.
  • If you have missed the previous showings of the DVD of La Porte City Street Scenes of the early 1900’s, it will be presented again on Monday, April 29, at 6 PM.
  • Dash in for our Bag Sale. In the month of April the library will be selling our sale hardcover books, paperbacks, and VHS tapes at the amazing price of $6.00 per bag. A lot of great books and movies have been added to the shelves for this sale.
