Celebrate National Library Week through April 13. This is a time to recognize the contributions of our nation’s libraries and library workers and to promote library use and support. Explore Hawkins Memorial Library to discover the many services offered locally.

Preschoolers hop in for stories with Easter bunnies and eggs at 10:30 AM on Thursday, April 11. Celebrate the Easter holiday with “egg-citing” activities at Preschool Story Time.

Take a little time for your handwork and join Hawkins’ Handcrafters on Thursday, April 11, from 1 to 3 PM.

On Saturday, April 13, Bunny Hop to our Easter Egg Workshop, from 10 AM to 12 PM, and create vintage eggs, egg friends, paint suncatchers, or make scratch art. And don’t miss our story walk “How to Catch the Easter Bunny” on Main Street.

Snow Flower and the Secret Fan, by Lisa See, is the April Book Club selection. This book is a brilliantly realistic journey back through Chinese history. Pick up a copy and join the group discussion on Monday, April 15, at 1 PM.

Chug down the tracks to read about trains at Story Time on Thursday, April 18, at 10:30 AM. Children will begin at the library, and then visit the FFA Museum for a history lesson about these iron horses.

Mary Poppins Returns is the 1:15 PM movie on Friday, April 19. Decades after her original visit, the magical nanny returns to help the Banks siblings and Michael’s children through a difficult time. Rated PG, comedy/family/fantasy, runs 2 hrs. 10 min.

BINGO is 1:30 to 3:30 PM on Monday, April 22. The game is open to everyone.

Welcoming Wildlife to Your Backyard program is Wednesday, April 24, at 6:30 PM. For over 40 years Charlene and Ken Heiar have been developing their backyard to attract many kinds of wildlife. They will offer tips and ideas on what you can do to bring wildlife into your backyard.
