Hawkins Memorial Library is celebrating National Library Week through April 15. Visit and explore the library to discover the many free services offered locally including books, magazines, audio books, DVDs, eBooks, public computers, WiFi, on-line learning programs and data bases, Preschool Story Time, LEGORAMA!, STEM programming, a Summer Reading program, Interlibrary loans, craft days, book club, coloring for adults, Monday morning coffee, Hawkins Handcrafters, community events, movie afternoons, copies, faxing, games and jigsaw puzzles, books for daycare centers, and more!
Sing is the movie on Wednesday, April 12, at 1:15 PM. In a city of humanoid animals, a hustling theater impresario’s attempt to save his theater with a singing competition becomes grander than he anticipates. Rated PG, animation/comedy/family, plays 1 hr. and 48 min.
Make an Easter basket, bunny faces, chicks, egg decorations, color pictures and stamp cards at the library. Crafts for Easter are Wednesday through Saturday, April 12-15.
Preschool Story Time will not be held on Thursday, April 13, due to no school that day.
Knit, crochet, cross stitch, quilt, or do whatever handwork or craft you like from 1-3 PM, Thursday, April 13, at Hawkins Handcrafters.
Thank your librarians on Saturday, April 15 – it’s National Library Workers Day.
Children will learn about being green and taking care of the planet when they celebrate Earth Day with Waste Trac at Preschool Story Time on Thursday, April 20, at 10:30 AM.
Compete in the 2016 DASH for the STASH, an investor education and protection program and contest taking place during Smart Money Week, April 22-29. Log the correct answers for all four posters and be entered in a drawing to receive an Individual Retirement Account (IRA) contribution.
Choose from dozens of pictures and try our metallic, glitter and gel pens, colored pencils and other markers at Color and Connect from 6-8 PM on Tuesday, April 25. This is your opportunity to explore adult coloring.
