May will soon be here. At Story Time on April 25, the preschoolers will read about May flowers and May baskets.
At 6 PM on Monday, April 29, we will present the DVD of La Porte City Street Scenes of the 1930’s, 40’s, and 50’s. This is the last scheduled showing of this DVD at the library.
Ruth Anne Schneck will share her knitting experiences and talk about her book The Little Garden of Knitted Coasters on Wednesday, May 1, at 6 PM at Hawkins Memorial Library and provide a tulip coaster knitting class. Then on Wednesday, May 8, at 6 PM she will present a second class teaching participants how to make a kite coaster from her knitting book. Please stop at the library to register and pickup a supply list for these classes. Everyone is welcome to attend, even if you don’t want to knit.
During the month of April the library is selling all of our sale hardcover books, paperbacks, and VHS tapes at the amazing price of $6.00 per bag. And we keep adding more great books and movies to the shelves.
