Hawkins Memorial Library is celebrating National Library Week by hosting an open house April 13-18, and with a special presentation on Monday, April 13 at 9:30 AM: Autism…A New Word in Our Vocabulary, by Clarice and Robert Burkgren. Hear the story of how autism has impacted the life of the Burkgrens and that of their daughter, Beth. Clarice will also be sharing her book, Autism, A New Word in Our Vocabulary and the 35 Year History of Iowa Society for Autistic Children and the Autism Society of Iowa. April is National Autism Awareness Month.
