The library has a lot of Christmas books about animals to read at Story Time on Thursday, December 5. Preschoolers will get festive with our holiday stories and activities beginning at 10:30 AM.

Visit Santa and Mrs. Claus in the library on Saturday, Dec 7, during La Porte City’s Home For The Holidays celebration. The Claus’s will be talking with children from noon to 2 PM that afternoon. Christmas crafts for good little girls and boys can be made from 11 AM to 2 PM in the library

Elf is the movie showing on Wednesday, December 11, at 1:15 PM. After inadvertently wreaking havoc on the elf community due to his ungainly size, a man raised as an elf at the North Pole is sent to the U.S. in search of his true identity. Join us for the movie, popcorn, and games.

Great books about presents and giving will delight preschoolers at Story Time on Thursday, December 12.

From 1 to 3 PM on Thursday, December 12, Hawkins Handcrafters meet.  Bring your handwork and join us. This group will meet just once in December.

The Union High School Carolers are performing in the library on Friday, December 13, at 5 PM. Enjoy these charming and talented a cappella singers dressed in their Victorian era garb.

Local author Cynthia Gross will visit the library for a reading and signing of her newly published inspirational book Alabaster.  Join us on Monday, December 16, at 6 PM when Cindy will share excerpts from her book of poems and short writings and tell the story of how she came to write a book.
