It is not too late to make merry for National Soup Month in January. The library has plenty of hearty warm-you-up recipes in the cookbooks on our shelves.
Sledding, shoveling, and skiing are just some of the winter activities that preschoolers will read about on Thursday, January 26, beginning at 10:30 AM at Story Time.
Hawkins’ Handcrafters meet on Thursday, January 26, from 1-3 PM. Join us and celebrate International Creativity Month by bringing a creative craft or handwork project to work on.
Coming in February…Blind Date with a Book! This is such a lovely event that the library is arranging dates again. Will it be love at first read? Stop in and choose your date beginning Feb. 1.
Surf’s Up 2: WaveMania is the 1:15 PM flick on Wednesday, February 1. This is an animated comedy that features WWE Superstars, providing their own voices while matching up against talking animals. Rated PG, animation/comedy/family, plays 1 hr. 24 min.
Groundhogs, bears, and other furry friends will be the reading topics at Story Time on Thursday, February 2. Preschoolers will have fun with animals at 10:30 AM.
Build what you love at LEGORAMA on Tuesday, February 7, from 4-5:30 PM. You can view these masterpieces in our showcase, on a shelf, or see pictures of our builders at work featured on the library Facebook page after each session.
The House I Loved, by Tatiana de Rosnay, is the February Book Club selection. Paris, France: 1860’s. Hundreds of houses are being razed. Rose Bazelet is determined to fight against the destruction of her family home. To overcome loneliness while stationed in her house, she writes letters to her late husband forcing her to come to terms with a thirty-year-old secret. Register at the library, check out a book, finish the book by the meeting date, and join this group on Monday, February 27, at 1 PM for the discussion.
