Toy Story 3 is playing on Thursday, July 25, at 1:15 PM. In this movie the toys are mistakenly delivered to a day-care center instead of the attic right before Andy leaves for college, and it’s up to Woody to convince the other toys that they weren’t abandoned and to return home. Come in for the movie, popcorn, and games. Bring your friends too.
For Summer Reading fun, create creature art at the library from 1 to 5 PM on Friday, July 26. Creatures include snakes, spiders, and turtles that you design. Artists can put their masterpieces in our Summer Reading Art show for everyone to admire.
On Tuesday, July 30, at 6 PM We Dig Magic will be the program for Summer Reading. Magician Rick Eugene will be at the library to present a magic show and teach aspiring magicians magic tricks in a class following the show. There is no cost for the magic class, but pre-registration at the library is requested. Young magicians need to be 8 years or older.
The movie showing at the library at 1:15 PM on Thursday, August 1, is Planet 51. American astronaut Captain Charles “Chuck” Baker lands on Planet 51 thinking he’s the first person to step foot on it. To his surprise, he finds that this planet is inhabited by little green people who are happily living in a white picket fence world, and whose only fear is that it will be overrun by alien invaders…like Chuck!
Friday, August 2, from 1 to 5 PM the library has crafts to make for Summer Reading. Design garden pictures, string birdfeeders, and construct a magic wand that afternoon.
The library now has more than 4,000 DVDs to borrow! They are free for use by patrons for one week. And please, consider donating DVDs that you no longer watch. We will take new or used movies that are rated G, PG, or PG-13. DVDs will be added to the library’s collection and to replace damaged movies.
