Friday, August 1, from 1 to 5 PM kids can make bean art, pretzel trees, and Popsicle tulips for Summer Reading crafts. This is the last Friday craft day.
Tuesday, August 5, the Curious Science Detectives program resumes. Explore kitchen chemistry and make homemade ice cream, mix Mentos and diet cola, and create gak. This free and fun hands-on learning session runs from 1 to 2 PM for K-2nd grade and 2:30 to 3:30 PM for 3rd-5th.
Alice In Wonderland shows on Wednesday, August 6, 1:15 PM. Alice stumbles into the world of Wonderland. Will she get home? Not if the Queen of Hearts has her way. This movie is the 1951 Disney version.
Kids will become knowledgeable about electricity on Tuesday, August 12, during the Curious Science Detectives program. Activities include charges with balloons and a salt and pepper experiment, and learning about circuits and conservation. Programs are presented by the Black Hawk Co. Extension 2014 STEM Library Tour. Learning sessions are from 1 to 2 PM for K-2nd grade and 2:30 to 3:30 PM for 3rd -5th.
A Goofy Movie is playing at 1:15 PM, Wednesday, August 12. When Max makes a preposterous promise to his girlfriend, his chances of fulfilling it seem hopeless when he is dragged on a cross-country trip with his embarrassing father, Goofy.

Titles are cataloged by reading level and other reading metrics to help parents and teachers select titles to aid in literacy campaigns.
