Lions, tigers and bears, oh my! Preschoolers will explore the zoo and the animals that live there during Story Time on Thursday, March 9, beginning at 10:30 AM.
From 1-3 PM on Thursday, March 9, Hawkins Handcrafters meet to work, create, stitch and chat. Everyone is welcome.
Iowa author Linda Betsinger McCann talks about her new book The Civilian Conservation Corps in Northeast Iowa on Tuesday, March 14, at 6 PM. The Civilian Conservation Corps was a federal program to assist young men in supporting their families, and also to renew our natural resources. Most of the Iowa State Parks had work done in them. Linda spoke with men who had been in the CCC and shared their memories with her.
Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day at Story Time on Thursday, March 16. At 10:30 AM books and activities about leprechauns, shamrocks, and green will entertain preschoolers.
Make your life brighter by attending Color and Connect, a coloring program for adults, from 6-8 PM on Tuesday, March 21. The library provides coloring pages, markers, pens and pencils.

Grab a copy of The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson to discuss on Monday, March 27, at 1 PM. This book has been hailed as a perfect work of unnerving terror. It is the story of four seekers who arrive at a notoriously unfriendly pile called Hill House. At first, their stay seems destined to be merely a spooky encounter with inexplicable phenomena. But Hill House is gathering its powers – and soon it will choose one of them to make its own. This novel is the March Book Club selection.
