On Wednesday, May 1, 6 PM at Hawkins Memorial Library, Ruth Anne Schneck will share her knitting experiences, talk about her book The Little Garden of Knitted Coasters, and provide a tulip coaster knitting class. Then on Wednesday, May 8, at 6 PM she will graciously present a second knitting class teaching participants how to make a kite coaster from her book. Even if you don’t knit you are welcome and encouraged to attend
The library is pulling out our silliest stories and activities on Thursday, May 2, at 10:30 AM. This will be a plain silly day for the preschoolers at Preschool Story Time.
Mulan will be the family movie showing on Friday, May 3, at 1:15 PM. To save her father from death in the army, a Chinese maiden secretly goes in his place and becomes one of China’s greatest heroes in the process. The library will have popcorn and crafts too.
May is Get Caught Reading Month. So, if you get caught reading at the library during the month of May we will have a reward for you. The library loves readers.
Older Americans Month is observed in May. At the library there are shelves of wonderful books for mature readers to enjoy, including large print and audio books.
Mother’s Day will soon be here. At Story Time on May 9, preschoolers will read about mothers and make something special for their moms.
Does your mother know how much you love and appreciate her? Join us at the library for a Mother’s Day card making party. We will have the supplies, you bring the creativity, and you take home a unique card for your mother.
