On Thursday, May 14, 10:30 AM, preschoolers will be thrilled with wild animals when we visit the La Porte City FFA Historical & Ag Museum for Story Time.
At Hawkins Handcrafters you can work on your knitting, crocheting, quilting, jewelry, sewing, stamping or other handwork of your choice, from 1 to 3 PM on Thursday, May 14.
As part of Financial Literacy Month, DASH for the STASH is taking place until May 15. Players gather information and leave answers to quiz questions using a computer. Iowa’s winner will be awarded $1,000 to open or add to an IRA. This contest works much like a scavenger hunt.
Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet by Jamie Ford is the Monday, May 18, 1 PM book discussion selection for adults. This novel is an extraordinary story of commitment and enduring hope. Henry and Keiko are an unforgettable duo whose story teaches us of the power of forgiveness and the human heart.
Bucky, the Waterloo Buck’s mascot, is visiting Story Time on Thursday, May 21, 10:30 AM, when preschoolers read about baseball and summer fun. This is the last story time of the school year.
Plan ahead for your Memorial Day weekend reading and movie viewing. The library will be closed for the holiday on Monday, May 25.
All sale hardcover and paperback books are only $6.00 a bag during May. Many books are like new with no library markings.
Mark your calendars for two big events at the library this summer: A Magical Show on Saturday, June 20, at 1 PM, and Dan’s Reading Road Trip with Dan Wardell of IPTV on Monday, June 22, at 3 PM.
