Fall has arrived, and at Story Time at 10:30 AM on Thursday, October 2, we will have autumn fun for preschoolers to celebrate the change in seasons.
Toy Story of Terror is the movie on Wednesday, October 8, 1:15 PM. While on a road trip, an unexpected event leads the toys to a roadside motel. After one toy goes missing, the others find themselves caught up in a mysterious, monstrous, and terrifying sequence of events that must be solved before they all suffer the same fate. Popcorn comes with the movie.
For Fire Prevention Week, preschoolers will learn and practice fire safety at the La Porte City FFA Historical & Ag Museum Fire Station with a fireman. This Story Time adventure is on Thursday, October 9.
Hawkins Handcrafters meet on Thursday, October 9, 1-3 PM.
Kid’s Wild About Books Club on Tuesday, October 14, at 3:45 PM, will discuss writings by Roald Dahl. Kids age 4th grade and older can register at the library and should read at least one of the Roald Dahl books before the discussion date.
An open house will be held on Thursday, October 16, during library hours to recognize Paint Iowa Beautiful, Diamond Vogel, and Keep Iowa Beautiful for a grant that helped supply the library with paint to freshen its interior. You are invited for a visit to ooh and aah over our clean and warm looking walls.
Chocolate treats will be given out at the library for the annual Chamber of Commerce Chocolate Walk on Thursday, October 16. Collect chocolate that evening from 5:30 to 8 PM.
Call the library to register for a computer class. Our Basic Computer Class is on Monday, October 20, 4:30 PM, or come to our Tech Time Class, Tuesday, October 21, 9 AM, to get computer help and learn specific programs using LearningExpress. October is Computer Learning Month.
