The Little Vampire is the movie on Wednesday, October 21, at 1:15 PM. In this Halloween flick a lonely boy becomes best friends with a vampire.

Story Time howls about Halloween at the La Porte City FFA Historical & Ag Museum on Thursday, October 22, at 10:30 AM. Preschoolers can delight in stories and activities for the upcoming holiday and have a spooky good time.
Bring any craft project you are working on and join other crafty people at the library for Hawkins’ Handcrafters. This group meets on Thursday, October 22, from 1 to 3 PM.
A Good American by Alex George is the October 26, 1 PM book club discussion selection. This is the story of the Meisenheimer family, told by James, a third-generation American living in Missouri. It’s where his German grandparents found themselves after journeying across the turbulent Atlantic and fording the flood-swollen Mississippi. Pick up a copy of this book and join the group.
On Tuesday, October 27, at 9 AM, bring your questions, learn how to create documents and get computer help during this one-hour basic computer class teaching you how to use Microsoft Word taught by Chris Earney from CTech. A $5.00 registration fee will hold your place and is refunded upon attendance. October is Computer Learning Month.
Kids can creep into the library to create Halloween crafts on Wednesday through Saturday, October 28-31. Make and take craft projects will be available all day.
Decorated Wreaths, 25’ outdoor garland, and wreath door hangers can be purchased from Hawkins Memorial Library. Items will be available before Thanksgiving and proceeds benefit the library. Order your fresh greenery for the holidays locally!
