At 10:30 AM on Thursday, October 31, adorable, costumed preschoolers will parade to businesses and trade a trick for a treat for Story Time Trick-or-Treating. We will march through downtown rain or shine.

Costume-clad kids get treats when they stop in with a trick on Halloween. The library is welcoming Trick-or-Treaters on Thursday, October 31, from 3 to 6 PM.

Story Time on November 7 will be a yummy morning for preschoolers who join us at 10:30 AM. Children will read about pumpkins and pies. And maybe eat?

The movie Monsters University is showing on Wednesday, November 13, at 1:15 PM. This flick looks at the relationship between Mike and Sulley during their days at Monsters University — when they weren’t necessarily the best of friends. We will have popcorn and crafts too.

Join us for upcycled crafts on Wednesday, November 13, 1 to 3:30 PM.  The Waste Trac Education Team is helping us celebrate America Recycles Day (ARD, November 15th) with a craft program where families can drop in and do upcycling craft projects. All ages can participate and create something fun.

Story Time on November 14 will include a trip to the La Porte City FFA Historical & Ag Museum for a squealing good piggy program for preschoolers.

Bring any craft project you are working on; knitting, crocheting, quilting, sewing, embroidery, etc., and join other crafty people at the library for Hawkins’ Handcrafters. This group meets on Thursday, November 14, from 1 to 3 PM.

Firegirl is the November book selection for the Kids’ Wild About Books Club. Fourth graders and older can pick up a book now to read by November 20.
