The next Story Time adventure is on Thursday, October 9, 10:30 AM for Fire Prevention Week. Preschoolers will learn and practice fire safety with a fireman at the La Porte City FFA Historical & Ag Museum Fire Station.
Hawkins Handcrafters is on Thursday, October 9, 1-3 PM. Grab a friend and your handwork and join this group for a couple of hours of relaxing work.
Kid’s Wild About Books Club on Tuesday, October 14, at 3:45 PM, will discuss writings by Roald Dahl. Kids age 4th grade and older can register at the library and should read at least one of the Roald Dahl books before the discussion date.
Children will read about apples, eat apples, and do apple activities at Story Time on October 16. It will be delicious!
On Thursday, October 16, during library hours, an open house will be held to recognize Paint Iowa Beautiful, Diamond Vogel, and Keep Iowa Beautiful for a grant that helped supply the library with paint to freshen the interior. Please stop for a visit to enjoy the lovely walls.
Collect chocolate at the library from 5:30 to 8 PM, on Thursday, October 16. Chocolate treats will be given out for the annual Chamber of Commerce Chocolate Walk.
