September is Library Card Sign-Up Month. If you are not already a patron, come in, sign-up, and start using your library. We have books, audiobooks, magazines, movies, newspapers, computers, programs and more. The library has a lot to offer – for free.

Preschoolers learn about using their library at Story Time on Thursday, Sept. 7, at 10:30 AM. On Thursday mornings during the school year, preschoolers can participate in this fun learning program with stories, activities, and crafts. Stop in and register your preschooler for this free program.

The coffee is on Monday mornings from 8-10 AM. Drop in and have a cup on us! Get together with others and color!

The next Color and Connect program is on Tuesday, September 12, from 6-8 PM. We would love to have you join us.

Youngsters visit the farm at the La Porte City FFA Historical & Ag Museum for Preschool Story Time on Thursday, September 14, at 10:30 AM. This field trip features entertaining farm games and activities full of learning fun.

Get together with others at the library for handwork, inspiration and conversation from 1-3 PM on Thursday, September 14, at Hawkins’ Handcrafters.  Bring any type of craft or handwork to work on – and bring a friend too.

Read an eBook Day is a celebration of modern storytelling observed on Monday, September 18.  Borrow your eBooks and eAudiobooks from the library through the BRIDGES program, Iowa’s eLibrary.  Click the BRIDGES link on our website, and browse the BRIDGES library. E-Books and eAudiobooks are loaned for two weeks at no cost to you.

Splendid Solution, Jonas Salk and the Conquest of Polio by Jeffrey Kluger, is the September 18, Book Club selection. Stop at the library to pick up the book.
