At Story Time on Thursday, March 7, 10:30 AM, children will learn about the telephone and have the opportunity to see how phones have changed over the years with a visit to the telephone office. The birth of the telephone on March 10, 1876, was Alexander Graham Bell’s greatest success.

On Wednesday, March 13, 1:15 PM, Wreck It Ralph will be the movie at the library.  This film tells the story of an arcade game villain who rebels against his role and dreams of becoming a hero. Come in and enjoy a movie, popcorn, and crafts.

Preschoolers will be busy with silly stories and activities to go with the Dr. Seuss books that will be shared at Story Time on March 14. The Dr. Seuss fun starts at 10:30 AM, that Thursday.

The movie Rise of the Guardians shows on Friday, March 15, at 1:15 PM. When an evil spirit known as Pitch lays down the gauntlet to take over the world, the immortal Guardians must join forces for the first time to protect the hopes, beliefs and imagination of children all over the world.

March is National Craft Month. The library has craft books galore to inspire you. Check out one of our books and try a new craft.

Board games are always out and available in the library. Choose from Checkers, Chess, Cootie, Jenga, Sudoku, Cranium, Pictureka, Chinese Checkers, Tic Tac Toe, Connect Four, Yahtze, HandsDown, Life, Sorry, Clue, Chutes and Ladders, and Found It! Dinosaurs. And if you have other games on your shelf that are no longer being played, please consider donating them to the library’s stash.

Last week the La Porte City Elementary students visited the library and left an art show on our walls.  Stop in and see their many colorful and creative coloring pages.
