I have been pondering about writing a column again and I guess the only way to get it off my chest is to DO it. First, I want to say thinks to all the readers and dear friends for your get well wishes and concern. I am glad I can still think and write and be able to express myself following a slight stroke. Thank you for everything. It has worked out well.
We have been having many wonderful entertaining acts during the past holidays. We are so grateful for the talent shared with us. During Christmas week we were serenaded by several choral and music groups. The Methodist Chimes played for us one afternoon; we all enjoyed their music. Other choir groups from the Methodist, Lutheran and Heartland churchs, along with a group from Washburn were also here. The Union Carolers came dressed in colonial day clothes which we greatly enjoyed.
Other entertainers included Cowboy Jim and his pals singing many Western songs, and Linda Jacobsen sharing popular songs of the day with us.
We are never bored up here “on the hill” at La Porte City Nursing & Rehab Center. We can and do play most any kind of game and keep busy, besides getting good therapy for our bodies. We have a lot of fun and it makes us healthier, too. We invite you to come up to see us – we love have having visitors.
Again, Happy New Year and a good 2013 to all!
